Active rest description

The Zoo garden in Děčín started in 1948 and was opened for public in spring in 1949. It is situated in a beautiful and silent area of a forest park in Pastýřská stěna  and with its today´s area of 6 ha belongs to the smallest zoo gardens in the Czech republic.  There are more than 110 animal species, 15 of them are critically endangered species and so the zoo participates in EEP (European Upkeep Programme). The Děčín´s zoo concentrates on raising less known and highly endangered animal species affecting rarely in other czech zoo gardens.

Expositions: a natural bear-range, a Bird house, South and North America, Indonesia, fauna of Bohemian-Saxon Switzerland, the felines, the mountain cloven-hoofed animals and many others....
 
What else we offer:

- children area with a castle kids can crawl through, a rope monkey-track and a chammy miniwall
- the animal games all over the zoo garden
- contact mini-zoo - feeding and patting is allowed
- a snack bar, a giftshop, a parking lot at the zoo
- interactive educational programmes for schools, kindergardens and homes
