Amselsee (Blackbird lake)

You can see the lake on the way to Bastei, very close to the centre of Niederrathen. It is about 500metre wide and it was found in 1934 by building the wall to dam the „Green creek“. It used to be used as an ice source, later also for the fish breeding. The walk around the lake lasts about 20 minutes. From the 60´s the visitors can cross the lake in a boat, especially night rides are very romantic! In winter you can go ice-skating on the lake.
