Jedlová

Jedlova mountain is one of the highest mountians in the Lužické mountains.  On its peak there is 23 metre high view tower. There is a wonderful 360 degree view of the surroundings mountains. When it´s fair weather you can see the whole horizon from Krušné mountains to Krkonoše.
That´s why the view tower with a restaurant was built there in 1891. After Word War II until 1992 the whole area was dilapidated.  Reconstruction started in 1992 and the view tower was opened again in the next year. Jedlova Mountain is also interesting because of its position in the watershed. The water from the mountain´s southern side flows to the Northern Sea and from the northern side to the Baltic Sea. The whole area is a great year-round tourist area, especially for winter sports. At Jedlova Mountain there are 4 downhill courses lifts. The length of one course is more than 1 km. On the top of the mountain you can also find a restaurant with refreshments. You can use the volleyball field, play skittles, rent a bike or enjoy your time around the campfire during the summer nights. You can get all the information in the restaurant where you can also buy tickets to the view tower.

From Jiřetín pod Jedlovou follow the green tourist trail across the way of the Cross up to the foot of Jedlová Mountain from there you follow the red tourist trail leading to the top. If you follow the red trail from Jedlová mountain you can get to the ruined castle Tolštejn, from there you can easily get back to Jiřetín using the surfaced road. Its also possible to take this journey in the opposite direction.
