Kirnitzschské valley with a tram

Through the romantic valley of Kirnitzsch creek you can ride by electric tram from 1848 called  „Kirnitzschtalbahn" from which you can have amazing views. Nowadays it mainly goes by solar energy, the trams final stop is at the holiday pubs at the Lichtenhainer waterfall. The waterfall was caused by damming the mountain creek in the hollow, located in the altitude of 18m. In summer the dam opens by the hauling-rope every half an hour from 11 o´clock and let the tons of water to fall from the top.
From the waterfall there is a track to natural formation Kuhstall, the 12metres high and 9 metres wide rock gate where the farmers hid their cattle during the 30 years´war.
