Lilienstein

A large mesa is visited by tourists mainly because of the fantastic view. Formerly there used to be a castle but nowadays there are only ruins left. From the south side the path was made easier thank to the stairs. In the middle of the 19th century on Lilienstein there was „the flying snack bar“, later the wooden view-tower was built...since 1893 the snack bar is supplied by the cable railway (the first hill in the Saxon Switzerland). In 1889 the Mountain club of the Saxon Switzerland had built the 16 metres high´ obelisk.
