Description of touristic attraction
Loreta
Loreta belongs among the rare sights of the world. It is the most northern most building of its kind in Europe and was built from 1704 to 1709. The whole building was erected in the yard of Capuchin´s monastery. Along with the new Church of St. Lawrence according to the plans of the famous J.L. Hildebrandt. The legend tells us that the house that Mary lived in Nazareth was removed by the angels to the town Loreto. Up above this house a temple was built and gave the birth to a famous pilgrimage place. Rumburk´s Loreta is a copy of its italien original. In contrast to the original that is all made from marble, Rumburk´s Loreta is built from sandstone. There are excursions of Loreta. You can see the reliefs of the Italian Masters. You can see the statues of Sibyla and the prophets. You can also find the coat-of-arms of the Lichtenštejns´ and the Angel's Motivation. In the gallery there are the 13 stops of the way of the cross. The tour is in either Czech or German.
