Rocky castle - Šaunštejn - Robber´s castle

 Once upon a time there were robbers and they liked the castle Šaunštejn. They were everywhere. They were hiding in the rocks, in the scenery, around every dark corner, in the gorges and on the hillsides. Everybody was scared of them! There were many brave knights in the region too. They were supposed to protect the "Czech road", the business road. They fought for the castle Šaunštejn bravely for a long long time. The knights fought but they couldn't defeat the thieves. So in the days of old thieves and rascals lived in the castle. But these days, you don't need to be afraid at all. Lets make a trip to this castle from where you can have a beautiful view. Today you will only see the ruins of the stone castle connected with the bridges.

Location:  Jetřichovice

Directions:  From Jetřichovice you follow the green tourist markers as far as the place called Pohovka, "the sofa". From there you go further following the red tourist markers for another 3 kilometers. The entrance to the stone plateau, where the castle used to stand, is adjusted and protected by iron ladders, footbridges and the railings.

Opening hours: open throughout the year.
