Jílové u Děčína

The town of Jílové is situated 7 km west of Děčín along Jílovský stream. The town is in the Preserved landscape area Labské sandstones and also is the centre of the microregion Labské rocks.
The first mention about Jílové dates back to the half of the 14th century. Among plentifully developing trades was the weaving, spinning and carpenting. In the 19th century the button-factories, nail-factories and tanneries were found.
Since the half of the 14th century the water fortress stood at the Jílovský stream and later on was rebuilt to the renaissance castle. At the turn of the 19th and 20th century the castle was used as the cotton pradelna. After the Thun family had to leave the Děčín´s castle, they settled in Jílovský castle. In the second half of the 20th century the school was there. Since 2000 it has been reconstructed and it is becoming  the social and cultural centre of the town. You can visit the local library, go dancing to the ball or attend the concert. In the festive hall the weddings take place. You can relax in the castle garden with the arbour and the small fountain.
Above the town you can notice the mesa Děčínský Sněžník. It is the highest peak of Děčínská highland on which the stone viewpoint was build  more than 100 years ago. It offers a beautiful view of České Středohoří and Bohemian -Saxon Switzerland
Jílové offers rich sport background. In the swimming pool there are two pools, three courts for beach volleyball and the swingsets for children. There are slag and concrete playgrounds, the track for long jump included are open for public every day at the basic school. Next to the castle you can go playing volleyball, fotball-tennis or tennis on the tidy court, you can also use the table for table-tennis. On Děčínský Sněžník you can find many trails that are for cyclists in summer and for cross-country skiers in winter. The paradise for rock climbers is a perfect place around Tisá and Rájec full of rock towns  where you can of course try many marked touristic trails.
