Stará Oleška

On the upper part of the stream Olešnička there is a village Stará Oleška. The first mentions about the village dates back to 1281.On the periphery of the village there is a nature preserve with the area of 11ha. In the reservation there is a lake with the wetland meadow. This location has been proclaimed the natural reservation in 1995 and its purpose was to protect one of the most important wet grounds in the area of the Protected Landscape Area Labské sandstones. We can find there many rare and endangered plant and animal species.
Olešský lake is used for swimming, water sports and sports fishing. That´s why it is favourite place for recreation. For visitors there are several camps or cottage camps. The most popular are the camps Česká Brána or Aljaška. You can also rent a boat or a pedal-boat there.
