Vysoká Lípa

Village description

Vysoká Lípa

The picturesque village is mostly used for recreation. There are several timbered and stone cottages that are in the protected monumental zone. From Vysoká Lípa many touristic trails lead to the magic places of the national park.  North of the village on the red touristic trail you can find the rock castle Šaunštejn, or so called Robber´s castle with the wonderful view of the surrounding. If you go further on the trail, you will find the Little Pravčická gate, the "sister" of Pravčická gate, the biggest natural bridge in Europe. Following the blue touristic trail you get to the deep valley of the Kamenice river where you can visit the ruins of  the old Dolský mill. The place is really magic, that is why the boats used to sail through to the Ferdinand´s pass, named after the successor to the Austrian-Hungarian throne Ferdinand D´Este who visited this place.  Also the fairy tale Pyšná princezna (the Proud princess) was shot here.  In the village there are many restaurants where you can refresh yourself on your trips.
